SUTTON:
With more than 1,000 acres of green open space and many parks, the
'greener, cleaner borough' has loads to offer visitors. Echoes of its historic role as a staging post on the London-Brighton road are to be found everywhere, from picturesque street corners to Henry VIII connections such as Carew Manor and Nonsuch Park. You can experience this fascinating history in some of Sutton’s old buildings, including Whitehall, Little Holland House and Honeywood House overlooking Carshalton Ponds, which brings the past back to life through a changing programme of exhibitions and events, including Sutton’s industrial and lavender heritage.
